Seller Guidelines

Listing standards

• State in every listing description the item's measurements, size, condition, and material, and include clear photos of the actual item.
• Everything in a listing must accurately represent the item being sold. Intentional or repeated misrepresentation may result in enforcement action under the Seller Violations and Enforcement policy below.
• Also state in the description: fiber content by percentage (for example, 95% cotton, 5% elastane), whether the item is made in the USA or imported, and care instructions. Federal Textile and Care Labeling rules (16 CFR 303 and 423) require these to appear online, not only on the sewn-in tag.
• Use only photos and videos you own or have the rights to use, uploaded through the listing form. No misleading imagery.
• Keep inventory counts current to avoid overselling.
• Price items clearly; disclose any mandatory fees at checkout where applicable.

Modest fashion fit

Modest Kouture celebrates modest, inclusive fashion. Listings should align with our community values. We reserve the right to remove products that are offensive, infringe on intellectual property, or are inconsistent with our brand.

Prohibited items

The following may not be listed, sold, or shipped through Modest Kouture:

• Used underwear or intimates
• Used socks
• Used cosmetics or makeup
• Used personal-care products
• Counterfeit or fake designer goods
• Weapons
• Drugs, supplements, alcohol, tobacco, or vapes
• Hazardous or flammable materials
• Food or perishable products
• Prescription or medical products
• Sexually explicit products or content
• Items containing hateful or violent content
• Stolen goods
• Items that infringe trademarks or copyrights. A listing named in a valid copyright notice is placed on hold under our Copyright Policy; repeat infringers lose their selling privileges.
• Anything illegal to sell or ship

Seller violations and enforcement

Modest Kouture uses progressive enforcement for seller policy violations. We consider the severity of the violation, the seller's history, and the potential risk to buyers and the marketplace when deciding what action to take.

• First violation. For a first-time, non-serious violation we may remove the offending listing and issue a warning explaining the policy. You may keep selling as long as you comply with our policies.
• Second violation. Removal of the offending listing and a temporary restriction on creating new listings, generally for up to 7 days.
• Third violation. A temporary account suspension, generally for up to 30 days. We may review your account and transaction history before restoring selling privileges.
• Repeated or serious violations. Permanent suspension or termination — including for fraud, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, illegal items, dangerous or prohibited products, intentional misrepresentation, harassment, or attempts to circumvent a previous suspension.

We reserve the right to skip progressive enforcement and immediately suspend or terminate an account when a violation presents a significant safety, legal, financial, or marketplace-integrity risk. You may not create a new account or use another person's account to circumvent a suspension or termination.

Payout holds

We do not automatically hold payouts for an ordinary first-time policy violation. We may temporarily hold or reserve funds when reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud or policy violations, process refunds or chargebacks, resolve buyer disputes, cover amounts you owe, comply with legal or regulatory requirements, or protect buyers and the marketplace.

When an account is suspended or terminated, we may hold or reserve funds as reasonably necessary to resolve pending transactions, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, or other amounts owed. Once those are resolved, remaining funds are released in accordance with our payment terms and applicable law.

Children's products

Apparel, sleepwear, or anything else intended for children 12 and under carries federal safety rules (CPSIA, 16 CFR 1120, 1610, 1615 and 1616). A listing in the Children category cannot be published until you complete its safety record in the listing form and we approve it:

• Age group, product type (regular clothing or sleepwear), and manufacturer or importer details.
• Manufacturing country, date, and location, plus the batch, lot, or run number.
• Confirmation that the product carries a permanent tracking label.
• A Children's Product Certificate and the third-party lab test report it relies on.
• Flammability compliance; drawstring compliance where the garment has drawstrings; sleepwear requirements where it is sleepwear.
• Lead and surface-coating testing, or a note on why it does not apply.

Changing the record after approval sends it back for review, and a rejected record takes the listing off the storefront until it is fixed.

Product safety and recalls

If you learn that a product you have listed or sold is unsafe, defective in a way that could cause harm, or subject to a recall:

1. Stop the sale at once: set the listing to Draft or remove it so no further orders are placed.
2. Email hello@modestkouture.com the same day with the listing, the affected orders, and what you know about the hazard. We place the listing on hold and contact affected buyers from their order records.
3. Do not relist the product until the issue is resolved and we have confirmed it may return to sale.

Fulfillment & service

• Ship every paid order within 7 days of the order date and add tracking when you mark it shipped. A buyer whose order has not shipped by then may cancel it for a full refund.
• Respond to buyer inquiries within a reasonable timeframe.
• Honor approved returns in line with our marketplace policies.
• Reviews are moderated by Modest Kouture under one published standard regardless of rating. You may post one public reply to a published review but cannot edit, hide, or remove it.

Payouts

Approved vendors receive payouts through Stripe Connect after order fulfillment. Commission is a single platform-wide rate set by Modest Kouture. Complete Connect onboarding to receive transfers.
